ICYMI ⋆˚✿˖°

Hello! Hi, HSR!

I am alive after my bachelorette party and let me tell you, it is just different recovering from a hangover in your 30’s than your 20’s. We ordered these pills and then completely forgot to take them, but rumor has it they cancel out the effects of alcohol (at least for a glass or two). Wish we’d been more prepared, but we were running from one activity to the next and barely had time for the outfit changes I’d planned.

At points, I felt completely disconnected from the outside world, the business, and the team. But letting go has me coming into this week feeling completely refreshed = the power of truly disconnecting.

I’ve been tasked by my new partners at FlightStory to “let go” of certain aspects of the business, and it couldn’t have been a better time to be forced to test that theory. I’m so glad I did. No more micromanaging the short-form, long-form, and editorial team. I let them do their thing and whoa, it performed (probably better than I could have done myself). I kept repeating to myself all weekend, “I can be involved without being in the way.” Growth.

Lastly, I love seeing Big Sky, Montana get the love it deserves as a ski town because yes, it is worth the hype and better than the photos. Move over Aspen, you’re about to see Big Sky all over your Instagram feeds if you haven’t already. I can personally endorse Horn & Cantle at Lone Mountain Ranch, One&Only, The Landing and Wildwood, M by the Alinea Group, and Riverhouse BBQ if you’re coming to town for Rhode’s ski pop-up (February 4–8, 2026) or if you were at the Net-a-Porter pop-up featuring Emma Roberts this past weekend.

A New Signature Scent

Your signature scent starts like any good outfit, with layering!! Without it, you’re wasting your perfume because it won’t linger the way you need it to. My friend just joined the executive team at NOYZ and got me hooked on properly laying fragrance to keep the scent all day long. Now, I start with their new Mylk de Parfum (a fine fragrance milk), then bring a solid fragrance for on-the-go during my busy days. I’ve officially perfected the 12-hour, all-day wear, especially with the launch of Mylk De Parfum, a first-of-its-kind pour-on fragrance infused with hyaluronic acid to leave skin hydrated, nourished, and softly luminous. You can try it in their three signature scents with a free sample AND get 15% off.

The headline is the $250K phone call but the real story is about the shift underneath it for early-stage financing of consumer brands…

Early-stage consumer founders are still trying to raise like it’s 2019-2020, pitching consumer VCs who now want you to show up with $1M ARR in traction that already looks like a business, not a bet on what the business could be. Meanwhile, the checks are increasingly coming from the source of the wealth: family offices, principals, angels with real liquidity, and celebrity capital routed through managers and agents. It’s money coming from the person who actually owns it.

This case study breaks down what’s changed, why it’s happening, and how to raise this kind of capital without wasting six months of your life in VC inboxes.
