ICYMI ⋆˚✿˖°
SURPRISE! W’ve got another vlog dropping today, and this time, it’s a Week in My Life.
I’m deep in my “doing all the things I’ve always wanted to but never have” era, and not just surviving the content has been flowing. When you’re aligned, the creativity hits different.
The vlog is basically an HSR Angel’s Bible for what life looks like for me right now, as a wife, podcaster, investor, and creator. It gives you a little BTS look at how I’m pulling together all the pieces of my dream life, teases the next two podcast guests, and shares some reflections on how far things have come. There are already a few sweet comments from HSR subscribers on the video (my favorite part, always). I talk a bit in the vlog about how surreal it feels to witness the full 360 my life has taken over the last few years — and I’m just getting started.

PS. I’ll see you in LA this coming weekend! We are gathering for an HSR Pod Walk next Sunday in LA!!! Sign up here if you haven’t already! The first 50 of you to arrive are getting an exclusive HSR hat and maybe a surprise from one of our recent podcast guests!

About Most This Week ♡
♡ It’s cool to be financially literate — and the biggest YouTuber in the world is going to capitalize on that. Mr. Beast just filed a trademark for MrBeast Financial, rumored to be a fintech arm offering “customized” products like student loans, credit insights, and insurance — all backed by financial literacy content aimed at his massive (and mostly young) audience.
♡ The podcast wars are heating up — again. Dear Media just re-signed another headliner talent in an eight-figure deal: Kristin Cavallari herself. Nothing about video was disclosed in the release, but I have a feeling we’re about to see Kristin’s face as we watch the podcast on Spotify.
♡ Chanel x Tech - cool job alert. My friend Zoia is hiring a Senior Manager of Digital & CX Strategic Initiatives at Chanel and 1) you’d have the coolest boss (creep Zoia here) and 2) you’d be right in the epicenter of fashion, luxury and tech.
♡ My favorite marketing campaign of the week that costs nothing was an “official apology video” from the founders of Culture POP. Their faux-apology video was funny, timely, and free. People like to follow people, not brand accounts so it’s a good reminder to take trends working for the average creator and apply it to your business.
♡ King Kylie brought back 2016 with the return of most her iconic era to celebrate 10 years of pioneering the celebrity beauty brand playbook. Love it or hate it, you can’t miss it. The Kardashians prove yet again that their business experts and marketing is their weapon of choice.
♡ Abercrombie did right by women’s sports with the launch of their new collection, “In Her Own League.” They brought together a mix of WAGs, pro athletes, and creators — all set to the music of none other than Hailee Steinfeld (yes, a WAG herself). It’s a smart, stylish nod to the full spectrum of women in and around the game.
♡ The only person who could have made Victoria Secret sexy again was a woman CEO, and they may have done just that.
♡ I Became The Breadwinner ♡
This episode is perfect for anyone who feels like their female friendships are slipping, they need a career break and/or wants to start something new. It’s also the first time you get to hear from the real Amy Liu, founder and CEO of Tower 28 Beauty. Amy shared that the episode almost didn’t happen because I needed her to be okay getting vulnerable, and she delivered. We get into the messy personal stuff that gives you the full picture of what it takes to build and its so important to our editorial process so we dug deep into navigating money and power dynamics in her marriage (and what shifted when her husband became CFO), the messy middle of entrepreneurship, and why women can have it all — just not all at once.

When Maggie first posted her video last year titled “The biggest celebrity beauty brand failure I’ve ever seen”, she wasn’t wrong to ask questions.
At the time, JVN Hair, a clean, sustainability-driven haircare brand loved by Sephora shoppers and stylists alike, had just been sold out of bankruptcy for $1.25 million. For a brand with multi-million-dollar sales, cult-favorite products, and a founder as beloved as Jonathan Van Ness, it didn’t make sense.
It wasn’t that the brand failed.
It was that its parent company, Amyris, did. When Amyris collapsed under nearly $1 billion in debt, JVN Hair became collateral damage.
