Time for my favorite part of the week, ICYMI!!!

ICYMI ⋆˚✿˖°

I have a lot to say this week so buckle up…

I’m writing this in my luteal face rotting in bed after a workout (this is one of my favorites) and sunny Sunday morning after our Farmer’s Market ritual. I’ve got my holy trinity of beverages: green juice in one hand, iced latte in the other, and my giant Stanley packed with the coldest water parked beside me. Eye patches on, looking slightly weathered—but vibing to connect with you all nonetheless.

HSR is officially going global. I couldn’t believe it when I woke up the morning after our incredibly successful HSR x De Soi event to see 7 HSR Angels gathering in Sydney, Australia—all coming together to get hotter, smarter, and richer. Spearheaded by @brookekm_, aka the 365 retired party girl, it gave me the final push to move forward with the Global HSR Angel Ambassador program I’d been dreaming up earlier this year. Think Unwell’s college ambassador program—but for the retired unwell girls who are finally just trying to be… well.

I’m turning 33 this week, and for the first time, I truly feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. I’m in the season of life I used to dream about—one I worked so hard to build. And while the goalposts always keep moving, I’m really trying to ground myself this week with pure gratitude for the life I’v already created- with Katie, my family, friends, Lucky #3’s and of course, HSR’s support along the way. To celebrate, I’m launching the HSR Uncomfortable Challenge—a personal reminder (to me, and to you) that the life you want is always just on the other side of discomfort.

I never used to be a big birthday person, but now I have a feeling my birthday is about to last for a few weeks, not just a day. So to celebrate myself, I got some new luggage after much comparison to make my airport chic euro summer dreams come true. I figured it couldn’t hurt to channel a little manifestation energy and maybe, just maybe, get this celeb founder to come on the HSR podcast. 👀

As promised, I updated my summer wish list on Locker and already made $110 just from ordering it. As a reminder, you make money back on purchases you buy out of your locker. Who wouldn’t want to do that…

I begged you all to submit some new show ideas so I wasn’t forced to watch sports every night this week and the votes are in. In case you’re in need of a good new show, here are the top repeated submissions: SIRENS, Friends & Neighbors, Secrets We Keep, Mobland, and Murder At The End of The World. We started with Sirens and 2 episodes in already, we’re into it!!

♡ This Week’s Episode ♡

I love how many of you are loving this episode with Lindsay with almost 5,000 of you watching it on YouTube alone!! I’m blown away and there is so much more to come!! And ICYMI, I posted my official DWTS audition the same day that Alix Earle announced she was joining Season 34!

@maggiesellers_

my official @Dancing with the Stars #DWTS audition with @Lindsay Arnold Cusick #dwts #lindsayarnold #hotsmartrich #podcast

The episode was picked up and shared by Us Weekly, Today.com, Yahoo, and Entertainment Now which meant so much to me.

This was my favorite startup to raise seed money this week. Doesn’t feel like another product we don’t need in the world. It has purpose, functionality and hopefully can help save lives eventually. More of this.

@plzdontbuythat vs. every fashion founder right now. There’s never been a more scrutinized time to build in public, and brand builders are feeling it. Founders are increasingly anxious about being called out by accounts like @plzdontbuythat and scrambling to figure out how to respond. Personally, my motto is: criticize in private, celebrate in public. But I know not everyone lives by that rule. I see both sides—accountability matters, but smear campaigns, in my opinion, don’t serve anyone. I loved this POV from an HSR Angel in crisis PR who shared practical steps for what to do when it happens to you—as a front-facing founder or CEO. And I really loved seeing the HSR Global Angel Community chat light up with thoughtful, passionate debate. If you haven’t signed up yet, come join the convo. This is where the real fun (and growth) happens.

The new status symbol? Your sleep routine. And by that measure, Lucky #3 (and now me) would be at the top of the Forbes list. The full debrief coming this week on TikTok.

There’s never been a better time to post TikToks with basic adult life advice. Why? Because most American’s don’t know how to adult.

Want people to sign up for your app without paying anything? According to Kristine Locker, one of the best growth hacks is going viral with a video about your ex who didn’t believe in your startup—just ask the 4,000+ new subscribers who signed up to Locker after she posted this video. Sometimes jumping on trends works!

Alix Earle is the influencer redefining entrepreneurship and our generations Kim Kardashian. I said what I said! I loved this piece from my fav WSJ editor, Sara Ashley O’Brien who I was lucky enough to meet at this week’s HSR x De Soi activation.

The internet is calling the most recent episode of The Cutting Room Floor with Steve Madden pure marketing genius and I couldn’t agree more. OMNDI gave Steve a platform to discuss fraud, his time in prison, dupes, tarrifs and more. It was such a great listen!!

Influencer marketing isn’t just for splashy launches and beauty brands anymore—it’s now the default move for growth-focused businesses, from household names to emerging DTC founders. But here’s what no one talks about: what does it actually cost to work with influencers in 2025? And how do you make sure you’re spending with strategy—not just for aesthetics?

This week, Hot Smart Rich brings in Julianne Fraser, founder & CEO of Dialogue, the creative marketing agency behind some of your favorite brands (think: Shiseido, Seed, Sakara, Brooklinen, and Bilt Rewards). Julianne is pulling back the curtain on how she and her team determine value, structure budget allocation, negotiate with top-tier talent—and why it’s still the wild west out there.

Want more context? We love this recent Entrepreneur article* which outlines how small businesses can get smart about influencer spend. Julianne builds on that playbook—especially when budgets start in the five figures and scale fast.
