This Week’s Episode

In this raw and unfiltered episode of Hot Smart Rich, I’m opening up about something I’ve never talked about publicly before—my recent natural breast augmentation, also known as an NFTBA (Natural Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation). From the real cost of the procedure to the unexpected emotional rollercoaster of recovery, this is the tell-all I wish had existed when I was making my decision.

I break down exactly what the experience was like—both physically and professionally. From taking downtime as a founder and managing brand campaigns while recovering, to carrying the mental load of plastic surgery as a high-achieving woman, I’m sharing the part no one talks about.

If you’ve ever typed “fat transfer breast augmentation reviews” into Reddit, wondered whether the results actually last, or debated between implants and natural enhancement—this is your go-to guide. I’m also sharing why I chose Dr. Steven Teitelbaum as my surgeon, what no one tells you about post-op depression, and how this surgery intersected with my identity, body image, and ambition.

What I Cover in This Episode:

  • Why I chose fat transfer over implants (and what I’d do differently)

  • What to expect when it comes to plastic surgery downtime while running a business

  • What I wore during recovery, what actually helped me heal, and what no one warned me about

  • The real cost—and why it ended up being over $17K

  • The business of beauty and how investors and VCs are capitalizing on medical aesthetics and plastic surgery

  • How I approached elective surgery as a working woman navigating the corporate world

This is for the woman who’s ambitious, informed, and unapologetic about wanting to feel confident in her body—and still wants the full breakdown before making a decision.

Whether you’re in your “research era” or just here for the tea, Maggie’s story will leave you feeling informed, empowered, and maybe a little less alone.

Startup Ideas I Can’t Stop Thinking About

Inspired by my own breast augmentation experience — because Hot Smart Rich isn’t just about talking trends, it’s about spotting whitespace and building what’s missing. So if you’re looking to build in the medical aesthetics or plastic surgery area, these are my ideas you can steal.

The FIGS of Plastic Surgery Recovery Wear

Opportunity: Recovery after plastic surgery is painful, inconvenient, and often… ugly. Most patients are sent home in cheap, shapeless compression garments that don’t support healing—or confidence.

My Insight: “I spent thousands on a procedure only to leave the clinic in a beige zip-up vest that looked like it came from a gas station. Imagine if recoverywear was designed with the same intent as activewear—compression, support, style.”

The Idea: High-performance, aesthetically pleasing recoverywear that supports lymphatic drainage, discreet wear under clothes, and helps women feel hot while healing.

Cosmetic Concierge Tech for Pre-Op & Post-Op

Opportunity: Plastic surgery is treated like a luxury service, but the customer journey is broken. There’s no central source to manage pre-op requirements, post-op instructions, or track results.

My Insight: “I had to build my own Google Sheet to stay on top of pre-op supplements, fasting instructions, and follow-ups. Then I had to text three different people to book a lymphatic massage.”

The Idea: A digital concierge app that helps patients prepare for and recover from cosmetic procedures—complete with timeline tracking, appointment syncing, and vetted service providers. (Think: ClassPass x Post-Op GPS.)

Candidate Testing for Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation

Opportunity: Fat transfer is rising in popularity for natural breast augmentation—but the results are inconsistent, and no one knows if they’re a good candidate until it’s too late.

My Insight: “My surgeon told me post-surgery that I had very ‘fibrous fat’—which meant it would provide great results for this procedure. It worked for me, but I couldn’t stop thinking… what if it didn’t? I had committed to spending $17,000 without knowing what the real outcome would be”

The Idea: A predictive diagnostic test or non-invasive imaging solution to assess fat viability before surgery—helping women decide whether to pursue fat transfer or traditional implants with more confidence.
