Happy podcast day angels!! Today I am sitting down with someone who was investing in brands like Poppi and Oura BEFORE everyone became obsessed with them…Chantel Jeffries!!
Chantel is a DJ, entrepreneur and angel investor who has turned her influence, relationships and understanding of culture into an incredible investment portfolio. And I have been SO excited for this conversation because we are talking about something I think every woman should understand…how to turn your access into actual wealth.
I have always been fascinated by people who can spot a brand before it becomes the next big thing, and Chantel really gets this. She invested in Poppi and Oura early, and we talk about what she saw in those businesses before everyone else caught on.
We also get into AI, why she thinks it is one of the biggest investment opportunities right now and why she is still VERY careful about what information and ideas she shares with it.
And obviously we had to talk about networking!! Chantel has built an incredible network through her career as a DJ, and she believes some of the best business opportunities actually happen when you are out having fun. I LOVE that.
But one of my favorite parts of this conversation is her approach to knowing your worth. We talk about why she refuses to do favors in business, the importance of protecting your relationships and why giving away your access for free can actually cost you more in the long run.
If you are one of the angels who wants to become a smarter investor, build a powerful network and stop undervaluing what you bring to the table, this is the episode you have to listen to.
At the beginning of this conversation I made a promise to you that if you listen in full, you will walk away understanding how to:
spot the next big brand before everyone else
turn your network and influence into real wealth
know your worth and stop giving away your value for free
So angels, are you ready to get hot smart rich?!

I Never Would Have Gotten a Job at Goldman Sachs
But this year, I was hand-selected by their CEO David Solomon as one of 100 people to win Goldman's Builders and Innovators award, and I was one of the first-ever creators to do it.
If you told me I would be winning this award, I never would have believed you.
I used to think success meant being chosen. By a list. By a firm. By a boss. By someone who could see my potential.
I never got Forbes 30 Under 30 and I hadn't been on a list until this year. And now that they're starting to accumulate at 34, I'm so happy I didn't chase them in my 20s.
There's SO much pressure start a business in your 20's and feel like you should have already made it. But the average founder of the 1 in 1,000 fastest-growing startups in a recent U.S. study was 45. To me, that is such a sign that you are not late. You're actually early.
I didn't start out as a creator to become an influencer. I started so that women didn't have to choose between being hot, smart and rich. And even though my Goldman award is made out to me, it's for all of us. All my angels. It's recognition that companies like Goldman Sachs know times are changing.
You have longer than you think. What's for you won't pass you. And when the achievements do come, don't be shy about it. Shout about them and celebrate!!
Building in public has been a secret weapon for me. It's why I'm excited to partner with Stan. If you're building something, build it in public. Stanley by Stan can get you started.

Something People Don’t Know About You

I invested in Oura back in 2021 and was an early backer of Poppi before its PepsiCo acquisition. Oh and I was a mathlete and graduated at 16... that might be unknown knowledge!
