“Every single woman needs to hear this episode” - HSR Angel

Earlier this year, I was told by a world-renowned gastroenterologist that the chronic health issues I was experiencing were a "tick" and that I needed to do deep self-help work. He told me that the problem wasn't in my body. It was in my head.

From my teenage years, I couldn’t understand what was happening to my body. The exhaustion. The hormonal swings. The weight gain. The cystic acne. The chronic pain. The symptoms that affected how I showed up at work, in relationships, and in everyday life, but never seemed serious enough for any doctor to investigate or take seriously.

Like a lot of women, I got used to pushing through and advocating for myself because one knows my body better than I do.

What feels emotional about this conversation is realizing how many women are carrying the same questions. Questions about fertility, hormones, PCOS, metabolic health, weight, energy, and why they don't feel like themselves.

After pushing for answers and not taking no for an answer, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis last month at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 30.

When I sat down with Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, one of the world's leading OB-GYNs and women's health advocates, I kept coming back to one thought: Why did it take me until my 30s to learn this? Why aren't women taught more about their own bodies and how to advocate for themselves?

This isn't just a conversation about fertility, Ozempic, or hormones. It's about learning to trust yourself, advocate for your health, and stop waiting for someone else to validate what you already know.

I hope you listen and either uncover answers for something you've been struggling with yourself, or gain a better understanding of what 1/5 women may be silently navigating.

Hot, Smart, Rich Tips

Learn your body without shame. Track your cycle, your mood, your discharge, your pain, your libido, your skin, and your energy. A woman who understands her body carries herself differently because she knows what is normal for her and what deserves attention.

Before every doctor’s appointment, write down the top concerns you want to address so nothing gets forgotten in the moment. I also keep a health note in my phone with my medications, allergies, surgeries, family history, last period, and key lab results. It makes you a much stronger advocate for yourself in any medical setting.

Health is the original wealth. You can build the career, the relationship, the family, and the company, but your body is the vehicle that carries all of it. Investing in your health is one of the most valuable investments you will ever make.

Favorite Part of the Conversation

Hearing that someone as successful and well-connected as Maggie could still be dismissed by the healthcare system was incredibly powerful. Even with access to top doctors, it took years for her pain to be taken seriously. It was a reminder that so many women are experiencing the same thing and being told their symptoms are normal when they are not. Painful periods are not normal, and the conversation reinforced how important it is for women to trust themselves, keep asking questions, and advocate for the care they deserve.
