Hi! Helllo! It’s podcast day and this is a special on.

As some of my angles might already know, I have shared about my plans to be a hopeful mum one day. But through the last few months of my endometriosis diagnosis and surgery (i'm going to share some more about that on an upcoming vlog) and the recovery that I've gone through, I wasn't necessarily expecting was having to confront a lot of big questions around fertility right away after coming out of that surgery.

To be honest, I'm not sure what exactly I expected, but I definitely didn't expect to be faced with questions around egg retrievals, freezing embryos, and really questioning my fertility as a 34-year-old woman. I would be lying if I said that that wasn't a big question that was on my mind.

In the midst of my endometriosis diagnosis and the number of doctors that I spoke to and people that I was put in contact with, the one name that kept coming up over and over and over again that I absolutely needed to talk to was Doctor Natalie Crawford, who is an exceptional fertility doctor based in Texas. She so generously shared her time with me and flew to L.A. back in June to have a really intimate conversation with me around fertility and the business behind it.

I think one of the things that was really helpful in framing the conversation that helped me was her focus on how fertility is not just a woman's problem or an issue. It really is something that needs to be shared 50/50 between yourself and your partner when it comes to trying to conceive. There are so many great nuggets in here for women, but also so many for men as well.

The other thing we got into was really surrounding the cost and economics of you being able to listen to this episode and walk away with an understanding:

  • This is the price that it could cost me to freeze a round of eggs.

  • This is the price it could cost me to do one round of IVF.

  • This is what I should be paying, and not paying any more than, for annual egg storage.

I really hope, regardless of where you are in your fertility journey (if you're actively trying to conceive, you are struggling with infertility, you already have a baby, or you are childless by choice and have friends in their fertility journey), there are so many takeaways for everyone in this episode that I really hope you take the time to listen to.

When Maggie opened up about her own endo struggles. Her vulnerability showed such strength and really helps break the stigma associated with women’s health and fertility struggles.

Something That People Don’t Know About You

I am a huge book nerd, especially romantacy. I love escaping to other worlds and getting lost in a book. It was a dream come true to become a published author this year with my nonfiction debut The Fertility Formula, but I secretly dream of writing a fantasy trilogy.
