Advocate for yourself because women’s health is a priority!! 🤍

I shared this on Instagram already but, on Friday, I was with endometriosis at 33 after suffering from symptoms that should have been caught my entire life. This journey first started back in 2023 after I invested in Allara Health (a telehealth care program treating women who experience complex and chronic hormonal, metabolic, and gynaecological conditions) and got diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 30. Since then, I’ve gone through Sibo testing, H. Pylori, a colonoscopy, endoscopy, MRIs, X-rays, pelvic floor PT, countless rounds of doctor appts and blood work to try and solve what’s been going on. I’ve had doctors tell me “it’s in my head”, “it’s a tick”, or “it’s just normal” but living with the most intense pelvic pain I’ve ever experienced for the last 3 years, was something I just wasn’t willing to do anymore. But I knew something was wrong so I kept advocating for myself. I finally found Dr. McClellan at Era Health and Dr. Miloniva, the two doctors who believed every word I said.

They were confident it was endo and got me into surgery right away.

They reassured me it shouldn’t hurt to bend over, to go to the bathroom, or do basic movements at 33. They wanted me to be able to workout without modification, without my life being on hold for a week every month from bad periods. They assured me it wasn’t normal to be this tired especially when they saw my ferritin level were at 9 (a healthy woman my age should be 70-100).

After surgery with Dr. Milovina, I finally have answers and the BEST outcome!! They were able to extract ALL of the endometriosis and scar tissue from decades of previous endo activity that was on my abdomen, rectum, and uterus.

3 years of debilitating pelvic pain and digestive issues, and decades of anemia, missing school or work, running through tampons at a rapid race from heavy bleeding, unexplained digestive disruption — all of it traced back to this one finding that was hidden behind my uterus the entire time. I advocated for myself to get to this answer and now it’s completely removed 🥹!!!!!

When I woke up and found out, my sister said “you’ve been given another women’s health challenge because you have a platform and the resources to make a difference and advocate for other women.”

She’s right. I won’t stop talking about and advocating for women’s health. I’m more motivated than ever to make a change for women with my dollars and my platform 🤍

The week ahead is all about recovery and spending time in my soft office (aka my bed). I can’t wait to be back stronger than ever HSR!

Beauty Ignored Dark Skin

How do you go from making $300 a month in the Army to becoming one of YouTube’s biggest beauty voices while changing the beauty industry along the way?
