“btww Maggie, I love reading ur newsletters! ive never been a fan of them but urs are really fun to read and packed with value” - HSR Angel

ICYMI

Hello Hi! HSR,

I write this to you after chugging down my 2nd Italian cappuccino of the day even after an 84 sleep score. As most of you know, I got the oura generation 5 last week and am one week in, I am lovingggg the new size and the fact that it does not scratch like the previous gens. From an aesthetics perspective, I’m pretty happy with the upgrade. If you’re considering one, definitely get the sizing kit before ordering because they’re not standard ring sizes!

Sleep is my number one priority this month (and seriously still missing my 8 sleep) amidst a busy schedule and multiple time zones because ICYMI, next month we are freezing our embryos. I’m trying to keep our stress low, sleep well and not engage in drinking any Aperol Spritz’s (or any alcohol for that matter) are just some of the things we are adopting from Dr. Natalie Crawford’s episode to have a successful cycle.

Someone recently told me I’m much better on threads because it’s an unfiltered stream of my consciousness and I’ve decided they’re right. As we prepare to hire 3 full-time roles and 1 part-time role for HSR (more below), I have been reflecting on how the right people who will join the company need to think and it really does mirrors my threads. I’m tuned into pop-culture, trend forecasting, macro-economic spending signals, vulnerability and curiosity. My team and I have been doing a lot of work on what makes HSR and MSR a strong brand in the market amidst so much saturation and it comes downs to the unique interest and POV I have had about business and culture my entire career. I won’t spoil the job descriptions, but here is a line that helps me best communicate who are looking for in our next few hires.

You are the kind of person who is waiting for Rhode's next launch but is equally excited to read e.l.f. Beauty's 10-K to understand how the business is actually performing. You read the Wall Street Journal, and you also know exactly which city Alix Earle is filming GRWMs in this month. You are curious about what people are talking about, the business behind why it matters, and what it signals about where culture is going.”

ICYMI, we are in growth mode and are dreaming audaciously and executing accordingly. On Friday, we announced HSR After Hours in NYC on September 14 in partnership with Forbes. To share a stage with Sherry Phillips, the first female CEO in Forbes 107 year history about where the creator economy and investing world is going during NYFW is a sign of where I think HSR is heading and there is so much more to come. Thank you to everyone who raced to buy a ticket and for the support and love you have had for this brand and me since we started. Even though the tickets are sold out, please join the waitlist so you’re the first to know incase a spot opens up! The comments on this post about how much this event means to me were emotional for me to read and truly a moment, I will never forget. Onwards and upwards, HSR!!

And for our paid subscribers tonight, I’m sharing how spending three hours with a $425 million founder this week completely changed how I’m building HSR. I have been thinking about this non-stop (and truly it’s something I want to be better at). You can read all about it below.

Marry Smart So You Don't Have To Work At 70

In case you missed it, last week on the podcast I sat down with Lorna Luxe for one of the conversations on HSR I’m most proud of 💌 We spoke about grief, money, power, relationships, femininity and what happens when the life you built with someone changes overnight.

Lorna opened up about losing her husband John less than six months ago, the life and businesses they built together, and the financial realities she was forced to confront after his death. We talked about turning hobbies into paychecks, why every woman needs to understand her money even when someone she trusts is handling it, and how to rebuild when the future you planned suddenly looks completely different.

She also shared the story behind “The Lorna Luxe Effect,” why she left millions on the table with her first 500K followers and why she regrets every Birkin she ever bought. The perfect listen for a Euro summer trip or a walk as you start thinking about your September reset 💘
