“I’ve been following her for yearssss! Love the “no sober Ubers”!! I’m so excited to listen!” - HSR Angel
Happy podcast day angels!! Today I am sitting down with someone who went from making minimum wage to working with Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior and Ralph Lauren…Kate Bartlett!
Kate is one of the top 1% of fashion creators and has built an incredible business around luxury fashion, personal style and knowing how to position herself in an industry that is SO hard to break into.
I have always been fascinated by women who can turn their personal brand into an actual business, and Kate REALLY understands this. We talk about how she built relationships with some of the biggest luxury brands in the world and why she believes you should NEVER try to monetize directly from them.
We also get into her high-low approach to fashion, why 90% of her wardrobe is actually pre-owned and where she finds the best designer pieces. And obviously I had to ask her EVERYTHING about shopping luxury for less.
But one of my favorite parts of this conversation is why Kate decided to go back to school for her MBA after already making millions. Everyone thought she was crazy, but that decision actually 3x her business income and completely changed how she shows up in business.
And of course we talk about her viral fashion moments, including capturing Timothée Chalamet's reaction during the Kylie Jenner reveal at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
If you are one of the angels who wants to build a personal brand, make smarter luxury purchases and turn your influence into a real business, this is the episode you have to listen to.
At the beginning of this conversation I made a promise to you that if you listen in full, you will walk away understanding how to:
build a personal brand that attracts the biggest luxury brands
invest in your education to increase your earning potential
look expensive without spending a fortune
So angels, are you ready to get hot smart rich?!

Favourite Part of The Conversation
My favorite part of the conversation was sharing why I decided to go back to school for my MBA after already building a successful career as a creator. I wanted to show that success doesn't mean you stop learning or investing in yourself. Getting my MBA helped me triple my business income and gave me the confidence to walk into rooms as not just a creator, but a businesswoman. It's a reminder that building your personal brand is just the beginning. The real power comes from knowing your worth and owning your seat at the table.
The Money Round

Last thing on your credit card?
Uber Eats.
Something you hate spending money on?
Ubers. I love public transportation. When I was younger and on a really tight budget, I had this thing called no sober Ubers. I would bike, walk or take the train unless I was having a night out. I do take them now because it’s necessary a lot of the time, but I try to minimize it.
Last purchase that changed your life?
Business school and my MBA degree.
More money on fashion or rent?
Rent. I mean, New York is so expensive.
When did money start to feel less stressful?
I think it will always be in the back of my mind. It’s still in the back of my mind, even though I feel like I’m in a really good place now. But when I was 20, I had my first amazing financial year. I would say that was the starting point.
