ICYMI

Hi! Hello! Happy Sunday HSR

If you follow me on IG, you’ll know I have been diagnosed with OHSS after my egg retrieval last week. Aside from spending some time in the hospital his weekend, I basically was a consumer. And a damn good one.

I’ve consumed more television and done more online shopping than I have in a few long time so I figured, I would share my favorite finds. I also updated my Hermes wish list to include my first exotic piece. But let’s see once the drugs wear off, if that’s still my MO.

So far, I’ve been loving the following documentaries: Martha Stewart, Victoria Beckham, and my Canadian Queen, Pamela Anderson. I feel so inspired by these groundbreaking entrepreneurial women that once I’m healed, I’m ready for my next chapter. That’s my biggest takeaway from these women, they’ve all had SO many chapters. We can’t let what we’re going to do be defined by what we’ve done.

I feel like I am back to shopping like it’s COVID, since all I can think about is cute loungewear. I legitimately bought 4 pairs of these pants, this tank, this t, these pants with a pocket, this for when I’m feeling a bit better but still want a loose fitting tank, this for a baseball long sleeve, and these pants for when I make it out of the house for the first time.

I am hoping tomorrow I turn a corner but at least now I can say, I’m experiencing the full spectrum of what it means to be a women in the US healthcare system and I’m one of the people who can try to do something about it so stay tuned as I explore how to make an impact!

Never Having A Boyfriend Has Made Me A Stronger Woman

What if never having a boyfriend or being in a relationship was actually one of the best things that could ever happen to you?

For Milly Goldsmith, it has been. At 28, she's never been in a relationship. But instead of letting that define her, she's built a life and a million-dollar business entirely on her own terms. And ironically, she met her co-founder on Hinge after they went on a date.

What I loved about this conversation is that Milly isn't pretending she never gets lonely or doesn't want love. She does. But she's also questioning something we've been taught our entire lives…why do we measure a woman's life by whether or not a man has chosen her?

We talk about what it actually means to decenter men (and why that doesn't mean you can't date), how to stop seeking external validation, and why the fear of embarrassment holds so many women back from doing what they actually want.

Because whether you're single, married, dating, or building a business, there's something incredibly powerful about realizing you don't need to be chosen by someone else to choose the life you want.
