ICYMI
I am writing this newsletter to you on the Eurostar from Paris to London after a hellish travel day. Just a PSA: do not book a Eurostar unless you are able to take all your bags yourself down the treacherous ramps of the Eurostar boarding area. I stocked up and brought with me an extra bag of Copains pain au chocolat, and then got a DM from an Angel that Copains has officially opened in London. Alas, you can never have too many gluten free croissants.
For those of you who are not familiar, Copains is like Paris's version of La La Land, in terms of cult-like status for a grab and go location, and I bet they are making bank. As the hot nerd I am, I love researching the business, founders, and infrastructure behind my favorite spots and was not shocked to learn that the co-founder duo left their leadership roles at luxury fashion houses Celine and LVMH to launch their wellness-oriented, artisanal bakery that has become beloved by many, called Copains.

This has only made me more convinced that my next business venture will be opening Maggie's Matcha Café, (obvy a working title), especially after a chic new concept has just taken over a space in Beverly Hills also called Maggie's!? Am I manifesting a collab? Yes I am. If we can sell out hundreds of tickets in London (I can’t wait to meet you), not even in my hometown of Toronto or my new home of LA, imagine the Angels that would show up to Maggie's for an IRL event in LA…
But despite the insane travel day and the extra baggage, being in Europe in the summer is when I am the happiest. Maybe it is the food, the time zone, and finally feeling ahead, but I think a big part of it is the ability to say no more freely. No to coffee meetings, no to events, no to the routine of TV shows and all the distractions that provide short term gratification and delay my long term focus on my current priorities: my health, my marriage, my family, and my business.
There is a reason I chose the song Stay Sexy for my latest thirst trap, very appropriate photo dump of Paris. The entire song is basically a repeat of "get money, stay pretty, handle your business, enjoy your life, stay sexy and don't give a f." Your choice whether you want to listen to it or not, but it is currently on repeat alongside my other latest hyper fixations: Nabura by Mr_B_Hype, Movin' to the Sun, Edge of Desire, and in a completely different direction, Love Sick Doctor by Thunder Jackson.
ICYMI, there is a solo episode out today and we cover all the things: age gap relationships, increasing neuroplasticity, the creator investing takeover, starting businesses, and how to get the benefits of travel when you are staying put this summer. Plus we introduce a new term you are about to hear a lot more about. Welcome to wardrobe rage (and how I solved mine).
In it, I announce that vlogs are coming back on YouTube with @maggiesellersreum so sooon! So get ready to see everything behind the scenes of my crazy time at World Cup, Cannes, and grinding it out in London.
Maggie x

Gap Just Proved That Entertainment Isn't Marketing. It's Business.

In January, we broke down why Gap's comeback was actually a masterclass in building cultural relevance. Back-to-back viral campaigns. High-profile collaborations. A return to profitability that generated nearly $1B in operating income across 2024 and 2025. The brand that seemed lost in the early days of social media had figured out how to win again.
But the real signal just came this week.
Hailey Bieber's announcement as Gap's newest collaborator isn't a campaign. It's proof that the entertainment model works so well, Gap needed to reorganize its entire business around it. They didn't hire a Chief Marketing Officer. They hired a Chief Entertainment Officer. Pam Kaufman now sits at the C-suite level, responsible for content, licensing, and cultural partnerships across music, film, television, sports, and gaming.
This is what founders need to understand: entertainment stopped being a tactic. It became the business.
