“It’s almost like this episode was made for me. I’ve really been on a health kick after horrible mental and physical burnout from my business. The one thing I haven’t hacked yet is food. Loved this episode ❤️ thank you” - HSR Angel
ICYMI
Hello Hi! HSR,
I write this to you from an airplane on the way to NYC as I sip a sparkling water and prepare to not eat any food for 7 hours. Not by choice, I am constantly having to remind my travel agent that I need to pre-order a gluten free meal or I go without food for the entire journey. By this time of living out of a suitcase, I have gone through all my chomps, LMNT electrolytes and midday squares that are usually for emergencies only.
So if you know me, you know I will immediately be having a Shake Shack burger on lettuce with extra pickles as soon as I land or at least 2 iced matcha lattes since the day is young in NYC. PS where is the best NYC matcha from?
I can’t believe I’m about to be in my favorite city at the best time of year. But despite the energy NYC gives me and the insane week I have, I promised myself that everyday I would remember to eat 3 meals, limit my caffeine to 1 coffee and 1 matcha, lift weights (even if it’s only for 30 minutes) AND take (and post) content!!!
This is when I am the worst at being the “content creator” part of my career. The busier I am, the more I’m doing the work and not posting about it. Which is why I was giggling about the discourse online about the new Apple CEO not updating his LinkedIn or talking about any of the culture changing work he’s done since joining Apple in 2001.

It’s also due to the lack of the team around me personally and why we are changing that with a full support team on MSR. Please continue to send your very entrepreneurial friends the Founder Content Manager & Executive Assistant role here!

But this reminds me of another HSR signal I’m starting to pay attention to in the market. With the influx of “intellectual influencers” who can you actually trust with the information you’re consuming? Are the people most often posting about the work the ones actually doing the work or been in the arena long enough to talk about the scars?
I loved this post from our very own Michelle Battersby who so eloquently said “the illusion of expertise has never been easier. So many people can pretend. Because all you have to do is take a relatively basic insight, plug it into AI, get it to deliver the formula…. And stick it on a carousel. And boom.”
And with that, let’s see if I can complete the challenge this week.
I can’t wait to see so many of you around the city this week and then more formally on the 14th! It’s shaping up to be a crazy night. I also have exciting news that based on the hundreds of you who are on the waitlist, Forbes opened up a virtual ticket so you can still join this incredible evening!
For our paid subscribers, I hope you’re all enjoying an amazing Labor Day weekend! We’ll be back next week with our next case study!!

It’s Time To Cut The Wellness Bull****
Who is ready for a September reset?! I know I am. If you’re struggling with food, feeling healthy and actually nourishing your body, I get it. And you’re not alone.
The HSR girl is time poor, and I openly admit in this episode that I hate to cook. I know it pays dividends for my health, but it is just one thing I genuinely get zero satisfaction from.
That’s why I loved Emily’s approach to nutrition in this episode. She has worked with incredibly successful women who want to feel healthier but simply do not have hours to spend meal prepping. Her advice? Figure out your pinch points, take the shortcuts and stop thinking healthy has to be hard. Buy the rotisserie chicken!!!
And beyond food, I loved how unapologetic Emily is about ambition. She became a millionaire at 29 and is proof that you can genuinely help people, build something with integrity AND want to make a lot of money doing it.
If you want to feel better without making wellness your full-time job, this episode is for you.
